The design of the perfect white shirt was a collaboration with Henry Perdon and Edu Martens from atelier EL TALLER in Amsterdam.

We made a lot of samples before getting to a final design. This was a process in which I could always fall back on their long expertise as Master Taylors in Fashion. Their craftsmanship is reflected in the cut and finish of their work. Hendry and Edu are very precise and have a fantastic feeling for details. That is one of the reasons I love working with them and have done so for many years when making my costumes for theatre, opera and film.

In my search for a suitable producer for this project, I was introduced by a relation in the textile business to a sympathetic and sound family business in Mumbai.

They are specialized in men’s shirts and maintain the highest standard, ethical as well as in their production. With their decades of experience they have been a valuable contribution to the development and realisation of “The perfect white shirt”.
